WHMIS is Canada's hazard communication system for hazardous products at work: supplier labels, safety data sheets (SDS) and worker education. Health Canada regulates suppliers; provinces (in Alberta, OHS Code Part 29) set employer duties.
Who it applies to: Employers and workers who use, store or handle hazardous products; suppliers who sell or import them.
